Labor Day Weekend 2018
Canoe Race

The annual Crescent Lake Canoe Race took place on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Under the direction of Liz Grinaski and Bob Mumford, it started promptly at 10 am.
The perfectly calm day with a glass-like water surface was perfect conditions, but unfortunately only 6 canoes and their racers showed up for the race!
Many thanks to Tim Grinaski and Duncan Phyfe for laying out and picking up the orange buoys that marked the course. They also got the First Palce shirts for winning their division!
Of course, additional thanks to Mary Beth Gilpin and her committee, especially Lorraine Dion, for providing coffee and donuts as nutrition for the racers and spectators.
A note to everyone- with only 6 canoes, we had plenty of race shirts left. You might consider entering next year yourself for the $10 entry fee per canoe to get 2 free t-shirts if you place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd (capitalism at work!)

Picnic  
The Crescent Lake Association celebrated the end of summer on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Cooler temps were a relief after the hot days of the previous week. A big thanks once again to Dick and Jane Desbiens for hosting the annual picnic at Silver Beach.


Picnic organizers MaryBeth Gilpin and Shelly Bonomo posted:
"So many wonderful folks helped make this event a success. We had over 70 baskets and sold almost 4,000 raffle tickets!"
"We had 73 food dishes on the two tables and 19 different desserts! Wow!"

Road Race

2018 Crescent Lake 5K Results - Congratulations to Rich Maynes and Jamie Bell, repeat winners of the Men's & Women's divisions of this year's race. Thanks to everyone who turned out - it was a beautiful morning for a run & walk. We had 16 runners and 36 walkers. Looking forward to a big turnout for the 10th Annual race next year. Kevin Brenker and I are already discussing BIG plans for next year's race. It will be something you won't want to miss! We'll post the donation totals once we do the final tally. You can still donate by contacting me or Greta Perry. All proceeds will go to support our veterans through Homes For Our Troops.

A special thanks to the Fallon Family for funding the T Shirts once again this year and to Sam Bell for yet another terrific T Shirt design.
